Grief Awareness Month · August 2026

Together, we shine a light for children experiencing grief.

Every night, across Australia, thousands of grieving children fall asleep beneath the same sky, missing someone they love. This August for Grief Awareness Month, Connected Through Stars is uniting Australians under one sky to show every grieving child they are not alone.

Why it matters

Every star is a lifeline

“Elyad lost his mum at just 10 years old. Feel the Magic gave him a place where his grief could belong.”

Your star can do the same.

When Elyad lost his mum to brain cancer at just 10 years old, he lost his best friend and the person who meant everything to him. The grief that followed was incredibly difficult, coming in waves and looking different for Elyad, his brother and his dad as they each navigated their own journey through loss. Through Feel the Magic, Elyad found connection, understanding and the reassurance that he wasn't alone in his grief. Today, he honours his mum by living in her footsteps and wants other grieving kids to know they don’t have to face it alone.
